NS: non-scurred, S: scurred and H: horned.
¹ This scurred bull (#5945 in Figure 1) was assumed to be P/p Sc/Sc according to the inheritance pattern for the scurs locus in the French Charolais breed.
² In modern Holstein populations, allele Sc appears to be rare [20].
