  1. 1 A region starts at the first significant SNP and proceeds if the next significant SNP is positioned within the next 10 Mbp on the same chromosome, ending at the position of the last significant SNP matching this requirement, with a minimum of 2 significant SNPs per trait in a region. The number of the region stands for the BTA number plus an a, b, c, d or e indicating different regions within a BTA.
  2. 2 Percentage of the total additive genetic variance explained by all the most significant SNPs per region together. This was analyzed with the animal model and all the most significant SNPs per region simultaneous in the model.
