Maximum likelihood tree of the strongylocentrotid sea urchins bindin sequences. The tree is based on Kimura 2-parameter (K2P) model as the best-fitting model of substitution under the maximum likelihood criterion [66] for constructing an ML tree of the bindin sequences. The numbers at the nodes are bootstrap percent probability values based on 1,000 replications. The bindin sequences of Hemicentrotus pulcherrimus (AF077318 and AF077319) are used as outgroups.
