Number of significant SNP associations with gene expression and metabolite concentration level phenotypes for 59 transcription factor (TF) genes representing 12 TF families AP2/ERF, ARF, bHLH, bZIP, C2H2, ERF, GRAS, HSF, MADS, MYB, NY-YC, and WRKY with 69 SNPs associations, in total. The gene with expression phenotypes were classified into seven different functional groups: wood-related, disease-related, drought-related, reactive oxygen species (ROS)-related, terpenoid biosynthesis, programmed cell death (PCD), and phenylpropanoid pathway. The numbers above each bar represent the numbers of identified SNPs associated with gene expression or metabolite level phenotypes
